District Sahiwal is bounded by district Khanewal on the West, district Okara on the East, district Vehari on the South-West, district Pakpattan on the South-East and district Bahawalnagar on the South. River Ravi flows on its North side. District Sahiwal is spread over an area of 3201 Square Kilometres and comprises two tehsils namely Sahiwal and Chichawatni.

The climate of Sahiwal district is extreme hot to the extent of 47ºC in summer and cold in Winter up to 2ºC. The soil of the district is very fertile. The average rainfall is about 177 mm.
