Pakpattan is bounded on the North-East by district Okara, on South-East
by Bahawalnagar district separating the two districts by Satluj
river, on the South-West by Vehari district and on the North-West
by Sahiwal district. District Pakpattn is spread over an area of
3,084 Square kilometres comprising of following two tehsils Pakpattan
and Arifwala.
The climate of Pakpattan district is extreme hot the extent of 47ºC
in summer and cold in winter up to 2ºC. Topographically, the
district is homogeneous semi-arid plain. The river Satluj flows
from East to West on its Southern side. The average annual rainfall
in the district is about 175 mm.
The
district was taken over by PRSP on 1st of Jul, 2005. There are
53 Basic Health Units, 6 ZCDs / GRDs.
